When you’re charged
- You pay monthly, in advance. Each charge covers the calendar month ahead and is taken on or about the 1st of the month.
- If your subscription starts partway through a month, your first charge covers just the rest of that month. After that you’re charged for each full month.
- You’re charged automatically using the payment method on file. You don’t need to do anything each month.
How you can pay
- Bank transfer (ACH) is the standard option.
- Credit card is also available. Card payments carry a processing surcharge (3.5%, per your subscription agreement) on each charge.
Emails you’ll get about billing
The payment reminder says the amount and the date, and which account or card will be charged. Nothing is needed on your end. If something looks wrong, reply to the email.
Who receives which emails
There are two contacts on your account:- Primary contact — the person who signed the agreement, or whoever you’ve named since. They receive contract notices, such as the renewal reminder.
- Billing contact — the person who handles payments, such as your bookkeeper or accountant. They receive payment reminders, receipts, and any notices about late payment. If you haven’t named a separate billing contact, these go to your primary contact.
Renewal
Your subscription runs for the term in your agreement (for example, 3, 6, or 12 months).- About 45 days before the term ends, we email your primary contact a renewal reminder. It gives the renewal date, the renewal pricing, and your options.
- If you do nothing, your subscription renews for another term of the same length, per your subscription agreement.
- If you want something different, tell us in writing before the term ends. Your options, per your subscription agreement, are to:
- cancel,
- continue month to month instead, or
- renew for a different term length.
Cancelling
To cancel, give us written notice. Either:- reply to any billing email from us, or
- email support@outboundlegal.com, or
- go to Settings → Subscription and click Request a cancellation.
- the end of the month after the month we receive your notice, or
- the end of the month in which your notice period runs out.
If a payment fails
Payments sometimes fail — an expired card, a changed bank account. Here’s what happens, step by step:- Right away: we email your billing contact that the payment is overdue. Nothing changes in the app yet.
- About 10 days after the due date: if it’s still unpaid, new prospects stop arriving on your account. Everything you already received stays available, and you can still sign in. We email your billing contact when this happens.
- On the 1st of the following month: if it’s still unpaid, sign-in is turned off for everyone on your account until the balance is paid.
